It’s been quite a while since my last post on here. Honestly, I’ve been waiting for the right moment and the perfect words to write a post about how this year has been for me, during a pandemic, post-COVID, and running a business. Truth is, there is nothing perfect about 2020 and the fact that I was hoping to attain perfection and present it to you in a post is beyond wild. I had to check myself. It seems like that’s what I’ve been doing ever since March and that is OK. I am welcoming all of this along with all the lessons and gifts of 2020. Ironically, the beauty of this post is that it is imperfectly perfect, and here’s why that is…
When I first received an inquiry from Celina at the beginning of 2019 and after not hearing back from her for months, I would have never thought that later in the year she would be reaching out again to finally book her boudoir session with me. During our call, one of the things she said to me was “I want to do this photoshoot where I see myself not as a mother or a wife, but as a woman” and I thought, wow… I know how that feels and I need to make sure I give this experience to her. We got the formalities out of the way, booked Celina’s session for February 2020 (pre-covid shutdown), started planning and the rest, well, the rest was pure magic.

“When I first thought about doing a boudoir session, Denice was the first and only person I decided to go with. From the initial contact over a year prior to the finalizing of the session, she was utterly AMAZING!!!! Denice ensured that everything I envisioned in my session happened. She was very hands-on in picking the different lingerie used. Gia, the makeup artist did a great job on my makeup as well. I was concerned that what I considered my “flaws” would show through and I wouldn’t like them. I have to say that immediately seeing them on the proofs, I was quite blown away by how she was able to make my flaws look amazing. I honestly didn’t even believe that I was looking at me! The packaging of the pictures and the added gift was the icing on the cake!
Being someone who’s insecure about her body, Denice allowed me to embrace my flaws and curves, everything that makes me a woman!

Boudoir extends to more than just taking a portrait of a woman in delicate lace lingerie. Boudoir portraiture is vulnerable. It seeks truth for both the artist and the muse. As a boudoir photographer, my heart’s desire has always been to create boudoir imagery that uplifts and inspires Women.
The connections I am able to make with Women are unforgettable. I believe that to feel the unknown is the most beautiful form of creation. Everyone has a gift within them. Something to give, a story to tell. I want to be there to capture your inner self and help tell that story.
